Documentation of my Robot development/code porting in Python SW

For elaboration of this solutions and concepts of mine, I was inspired by initial Robot design from Dejan. Thanks for his Tutorial and energy and time put into this nice work. He wrote on his web, he cant put any more time into this due to other projects of him. This resonated so much in me that I immediatelly wanted and decided to continue. Link to Dejans work

So first, me improved and redesigned the known design flaws and added mainly two construction changes, which were pointed to be weak points and its become much stiffer! Decided also to replace gripper with suction unit incl. pressure sensor. The new robot design shall become a pick and place machine of plastics discs on turntable for ultrasonic welding as main application purpose as seen in animation I made see in video shot below and next I will describe here will be code porting from porcessing to python enviroment. My aim is a real usefull purpose described above so here 3D Simulation of the matter / aim in Solidworks2020 (welding machine is not on the picture, I dont own one. To make it presision machine, I plan to add a Computer vision with Python language and therefore want port the code from Processing / Arduino to python / Arduino code

 

 

So any colboration on this is welcome. I have started with the simulation in Solidwrks 2020. It was quite pain in butt with the Simulate Premium SW, but I made it render somehow.

 

This project I see as learning by doing and possible growth, hopefully it becomes something usefull. I am currently working on code and update my progress on-line to keep you informed!

 

 

After completion and 1st test of prototype... I gave it a name "Zdenek" a chap, friend of mine in Stuttgart who offered me very cheap rent so I can stay somewhere and work on this project. Next I created a GUI - graphical user interface in Python and its Tkinter internal module, picture below, and further plan is to code the rest in Python in order to order commands after pressing these buttons on GUI, which will send string arrays via serial to Arduino, to drive the robot

I would love to prove succes because the manual work is tedious for the women placing the disc on the table, lets go towards automation and rationalizing it and break people free toward craetive work not sklave work. Engineering is essential to small manufacturing in oppose to fundamental discussions whether ready or not for Artificial Intelligence. We need brain power doing engineering step by step towards sustainable future. Because it is time consuming and there is always chance of failure. But if you apply critical thinkling and work with right axioms and make the right conclusion, I am positive about progress. As Elon Musk said ,,I think wishfull thinking is part of human beeings, but if You want to do something really innovative, You cant base everything on analogy and right conclusion. Analogy is referencing the past and you have to identify the problem, but cannot operate on all things like this, cause it takes too much menthal horse power!" There is more information on python as on processing in the internet, so I hope this might lead to success and future in finding the right solution - internet is going to have a big impact on humanity.
